Lake Project
I am consistently inspired by the nature and topography of my rural home place, and my current work originated with the idea of exploring and experimenting with the shapes made by the lakes in the landscape, viewed from above.
Using printing lino to carve the outline of the lakes and the tributary rivers, and sometimes adjoining roads and laneways, I then use the carved lino make ceramic reliefs, and the light and shadows made by the undulations and ridges in the clay fascinate me.

The second tranche of work is printing with the lino on linen panels.

The National Museum of Ireland exhibitied this body of work in the Courtyard Gallery in Summer 2023.
